Description
300km north of Cape Town lies an amazing winery sculptured by its proximity to the Atlantic Ocean. The innovative female winemaker cleverly develops wines which reflect the terroir of red granite and cool sea breezes to make wines with a vibrancy and great personality. When we visited it felt like a forgotten outpost but were totally bowled over by the Fryer’s Cove team’s ability to tame the elements and produce a range of unique wines.
On the nose of this Chenin Blanc you find dried apricot, honey and vanilla notes, the wine slips through your palate with lemons, limes and peach skins. There is a lovely density from the residual sugar and flavour compounds. Such a treat and well worth the journey to find it!
