Description
A really interesting wine from a predominantly red Bordeaux winemaker, Chateau du Courlat. This white is made from the Cabernet Franc grape variety, well-known for its role in the region’s red blends. The juice of the black grapes are gently pressed with very little subsequent skin contact creating a delicious white wine with a subtle rosé tint.
It has texture and an appealing richness with notes of red apples, redcurrants and a touch of spice. A particularly good food wine. We enjoyed it immensely with barbecued monkfish and it also paired well with the local goat’s cheese at the end of the meal. Nice to try something a little different.
