Description
This wonderful Sherry has just been awarded 94 points by Robert Parker’s team at the Wine Advocate Tasting in September 22.
First produced by Barbadillo in 1827 and again in 2014, this manzanilla has been aged for 8 years in oak casks. The extra ageing builds complexity, body and adds a hint of oxidation. It is also produced as an ‘En Rama’ ie it has been has been bottled without fining or filtration to preserve the body and freshness. Golden in your glass with yeasty aromas, nuts, caramel and some suggest chamomile flavours and is remarkably smooth.
Matches well with seafood, cured meats, grilled vegetables and especially a bowl of salted almonds! Serve slightly chilled.
