New to the list and a top hit with Viognier fans. The floral nose and fresh ripe pear on the palate mingles with good acidity. The long finish has hints of Clementines and Seville oranges. Would be delicious with chocolate desserts and spicy foods.
We visited the producers Calmel & Joseph near Carcassonne this year and met Laurent Calmel who kindly showed us around their estate nestled between 3 valleys. They have 20 hectares under vine surrounded by forests and garrigue. They are committed to producing organic wines and use nature to enhance the character of their wine.
