Description
An utter treat! We visited the vineyard in Val de Dagne in January and this Pinot Noir was our favourite wine from the whole trip. Admittedly it was also one of the most expensive we tasted, but it was worth every centime.
La Magdeleine was recently tasted & reviewed by Tam Currin, part of Jancisrobinson.com who gave it 17.5 points. This is how she eloquently described it “There is real intensity and sweet timbre here, scarlet-succulent fruit shimmering and glimmering through delicately spicy tannins. There’s an almost Christmas-cake clove-spice warmth and tingle to the wine, rose-petal fragrance, and a soft, fragrant smokiness, as if someone gently blew fine cigar smoke over the top. The tannins are gauzy and sensuous, and the finish is effortlessly long. The best Magdeleine yet.”
