Loved this juicy blend when we tried it in Franschhoek in February and it was very popular at our recent customer tasting when the winemaker from the Old Road Wine Company, Ryan Putttick visited us.
The Cinsault, Sangiovese, Mouvèdre and Carignan combination is adventurous and yet it works really well and produces a wine which is excellent paired with grilled or barbecued meats. It is bright red cherry in colour, the cherry & plum flavours sit comfortably on the palate followed by an earthy minerality. Well-integrated oak after 8 months in second & third filled barrels. Can be chilled too.
