Description
We have sold the Rhone blend from Massaya for a number of years so are delighted to add their very enjoyable dry white to the list.
Lovely fresh, fruity nose with white flower fragrance, buttery soft mouthfeel, good structure that balances the sharpness.
Sami Ghosn, the winemaker believes working closely with nature allows them to make better wine. They rely on the snow & frost & morning fogs to “refresh the soils”. Recently they have planted Cedar trees, Junipers and Oaks in the surrounding area to encourage biodiversity.
The wine is ready to drink now but has the potential to age for 3-5 years.
The blend consists of Obeidi, an indigenous variety, Clairette, Sauvignon blanc & Chardonnay. Matches well with rich fruity tagines, baba ghanoush and falafels.
Sami Ghosn presented a tasting here in April and we so enjoyed learning about his range of wines & the ethos of the Massaya winery. He is coming to speak at The Dartmouth Food Festival in October so make sure you are on our mailing list as we will post more details there.
